Pistons

Detroit holds the edge, but Chicago might have a trick up its sleeve.

Grade B: Pistons Moneyline (-225)

The Pistons, having broke a three game skid, look to build momentum rolling at home against a struggling Bulls squad that has dropped three of their last five. However, Detroit will be without starting power forward Isaiah Stewart, which could open up opportunities for Chicago’s frontcourt, especially Nikola Vučević, who has historically dominated the Pistons. The Bulls, though, are dealing with their own issues, as DeMar DeRozan is questionable with a lingering ankle injury, potentially hampering their offensive firepower. Meanwhile, Cade Cunningham has consistently torched Chicago, averaging over 25 points per game in their last five matchups. With both teams past the halfway mark of the season, Detroit is fighting to stay in the play-in picture, while Chicago is trying to climb out of the Eastern Conference basement. The moneyline bet (-225) suggests Detroit is the favorite, and while their home record and backcourt advantage make them the safer pick, Chicago’s desperation and potential rebounding edge keep them dangerous.

Detroit’s firepower might be too much for Chicago to handle.

Grade B+: Pistons -5.5 (-115)

The Pistons, fighting to stay afloat in the play-in race, while the Bulls have dropped three of their last five. Chicago could be in trouble without DeMar DeRozan, who remains questionable with an ankle issue, leaving Zach LaVine to carry the scoring load against a scrappy Detroit defense. On the other side, the Motor City’s rising star Cade Cunningham has historically thrived against the Bulls, averaging over 25 points per game in their last five meetings. The absence of Isaiah Stewart could hurt Detroit’s interior defense, but with Jaden Ivey and Ausar Thompson providing key secondary scoring, the Pistons have more than enough offensive depth to exploit Chicago’s defensive lapses. With playoff positioning on the line, Detroit will look to make a statement at home. While Chicago has the ability to keep it close, Detroit’s firepower should help them cover the spread.
